The other day, I took my boys Tater and Bud to the doctor for their annual checkup.
Every year, I get my boys a flu shot. Say what you will about flu shots, but I believe in them. I have gotten flu shots for my boys every year and they almost never get sick. (Knock on wood.)
Anyway, at this doctor's appointment, I asked the nurse if their office had any of this year's seasonal flu vaccine in yet. (Not the vaccine for H1N1 - that won't be available until sometime in October.)
The nurse said that they had the vaccine, but she couldn't administer it until October. Then she said, "Oh, wait a minute. You have private insurance, don't you?"
I replied that I do.
She said, "Well, then you can have the flu vaccine now. It's the TennCare (aka Medicaid) patients who can't have it until October."
I thought that was interesting.
Who are the people who worship the quicksand Obama walks on? Who are the people who hollered for the "hope" and "change?" Who are the people drooling over Obamacare?
That's right... the people who are dependent on the government.
The people who are now being told that they have to wait for the flu vaccine.
The people whose care is being rationed.
If you have private insurance or can pay cash, you get to step to the head of the line. If you're on the government dole, then take a number. We'll get to you if we have enough to go around.
Um, I don't think so, Scooter.
If they're already rationing it now, how much worse do you think it'll be if/when millions more people are dependent on the government for health care?
Having seen this, all I can say is that they'll take my private insurance away from me only when they can pry it out of my cold, dead hands. Come hell or high water, I'll do whatever it takes to maintain private insurance or pay for the treatment myself.
When it comes to healthcare for me and mine, "you'll have to wait" isn't good enough.
