Driving to work this morning, I spotted a pair of these road signs in the vicinity of a tiny bridge in Anderson County that is going to be replaced, courtesy of the stimulus package.I couldn't find out exactly how much these things cost (hey, what about that TRANSPARENCY you preached about, huh?), but based on my best estimates from other states, I wager that these bits of propaganda cost about $800 apiece.

Or, better still, how about NOT spending that money... money that we don't even have to spend in the first place!
These, my friends, are your future tax dollars at work. Our great-grandchildren will be paying for these signs. I hope you enjoy them. Of course, this is Tennessee, so the signs will either be spray painted, shot, or stolen within a week or two. Then they'll have to be replaced, naturally. That figure of $164,800 could actually be conservative.

But, back to the logo.
Look at it. It's slick. It's trendy. It's also no coincidence that it emulates the Obama "O" graphic, either.
I would like to know how much the graphic design/advertising firm who created it was paid. You know they didn't do it for free. And let's not forget that $18 MILLION dollars has just been committed to redesign the recovery.gov website.
