Today is our wedding anniversary. In some ways, it seems as though we've been together a lifetime. Other times, it's like we've just met.
This is a picture of Mr. Zen on our wedding day. I'll never forget the way he looked that day. I'll never forget how he cried as he read his vows to me (and HE'S supposed to be the calm one).
I'll always remember how excited he gets when I make him a peach cobbler. I'll always remember the times he braids my hair for me because I don't know how to do it myself. I'll always remember the funny look he gets on his face when he's really concentrating on a project and doesn't know that I'm watching him.
Thank you, Beau, for so many things.
For washing the dishes
For watching "Gone With the Wind" (the WHOLE THING) with me
For listening to all my old Navy sea stories
For being the Dad that you didn't have to be
For trying that awful seafood chowder I made
For letting me introduce you to Monty Python, MST3K and The Dude
For being my best student
For being my best teacher
For bringing me a gas can when I was stranded that time
For holding my hand during the anxiety attack
For trusting me enough to try sushi
For laughing when I talk in my sleep
For seeing me instead of looking at me
I am so happy to share a life with you. Thank you for these wonderful years together. I love you, always and forever.
Oh, and thank you for singing along to "Grease" with me!
