Countdown to Oak Ridge revenue cameras

According to a press release from Oak Ridge Police Chief David Beams, Oak Ridge's first "photo enforcement location" (i.e. revenue camera setup) is under construction and will be operating as early as Monday, April 13th.

These cameras are located on Robertsville Road in the Willow Brook Elementary School zone.

Note that these are not red light cameras. These are SPEED cameras. They monitor the speed of cars driving through the school zone. But they also track the speed of cars BEFORE and AFTER the school zone.

"When the location becomes operational, a 30-day warning period will begin," Oak Ridge Police Department officials stated.

"During this 30-day warning period, violators will receive a warning notice in the mail with no action required; (and) after the 30-day period, ’real' notices will be received by violators."

According to the Oak Ridge Police Department, the other three camera locations should be up and running by mid-May.

Don't forget to study up at HighwayRobbery.net and get yourself some Photo Blocker spray.

... and thus, it begins.
